Concert pianist Steven Masi is a modern day rarity, an heir to the great tradition of pianists in the line of Wilhelm Kempff, Claudio Arrau, Artur Schnabel and Wilhelm Bachaus who love and excel in the great German and Austrian masterpieces.
This concert is the first of an eight-part series of Beethoven’s piano sonatas. Masi will perform: Sonata No. 15 in D Major, Op. 28 “Pastoral”; Sonata No. 3 In C Major, Op. 2 No. 3; Sonata No. 13, Op. 27. No. 1 “Sonata Quasi una Fantasia” and Sonata No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53 “Waldstein.”
Classical Interludes is made possible in part by a generous gift from James J. O’Toole and is supported in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and many generous individual donors.
